Starch Works

I have it on good authority that starches make you fat. BigPharma agrees. I do not. Let's see who is right.

Day 3 - Starch Solution

Today’s stats:

Statistic Value
Weight (KG)
BMI
Body Fat (%)
Blood Pressure 126 / 84 @68
Blood Glucose 5.4

The weight details are missing because for some reason the scales didn’t upload the measurements. I’m using Withing’s body analyzer and it comes with built-in WiFi. This lets it upload the results directly which is ideal as I don’t have to write anything down or take multiple photos of the scale. I’ll watch out for this in future though…

Food

I won’t cover the food I’m eating each day as I’m basically eating the same stuff. This is convenient and easy, but doesn’t make for very inspiring blogs. I’m actually trying to find a local company who might be willing to make some of the delicious recipes that Mary McDougall has written and then I can have something a bit different every day. So far I’ve yet to be able to convince anyone to do this, but I’m working on it. I’d love to set up a Starch based restaurant here in Hong Kong!

Dinner

Having said that, dinner yesterday meant eating out at a restaurant which I was a bit nervous about. It was something of a business meeting, so I was meeting new people, and of course the conversation would be starting off with what I could and could not eat. As it happened nothing on the menu was Starch Solution friendly. Fortunately my companions for the evening were very understanding and actually interested in what I was doing (in fact one of them is going to give it a try) and with a bit of translation help, I was able to get some basics.

I actually just ended up with bread and water, but cunningly as I have watched Micheal Klaper present, I took his advice - “Before I go out to eat, I eat!”. So I wasn’t too hungry and wasn’t too badly affected by the delicious smelling foods everyone else was having. I also had a healthy starch supply at home and as I wasn’t too hungry to start with, I was able to survive quite well.

The evening went pretty well, and I had a snack when I got home - all good!
