Starch Works

I have it on good authority that starches make you fat. BigPharma agrees. I do not. Let's see who is right.

Surprise drop in weight today, so I think this is down to simply not eating dinner the day before. As I mentioned in my last post, I skipped it because I wasn’t hungry, not because I was trying to save calories or anything. Still, it goes to show how heavy starch based food can be, and of course my portions change daily, so that would also add fluctuation. The scale really provides only a very poor approximation of actual weight….

Recently I’ve been looking at Allan deviation plots to look at the variability in the variability of an oscillator. I wonder if it could also be applied to weight, to determine the variability in weighings… Something to ponder about I suppose :)

Breakfast was my lunch box as I didn’t feel like beans, and then that left lunch an open option. I went to the burrito place and gave it a try. The on I ended up with seemed to have no oil in it. Specifically they didn’t add the rice because it was cooked with oil, so hopefully, overall, oil was at a minimum. It did have a spicy sauce so there was probably a small amount of oil in that, but I guess I can’t control everything and it would be nice to have an extra place on my list of places to eat…
